Teatro Principal
The Teatro Principal is Valencia’s main dramatic venue and also puts on many dance performances, as well as operas and musicals. It is the city’s oldest and most famous theatre, built in the 19th century, and is now considered a historic monument.
Teatro Olympia
This is a private, family-owned theatre with a more intimate atmosphere. It offers a varied programme every year, including classical dance, plays, opera, and zarzuela, a traditional kind of Spanish musical theatre. Most of the plays and operas are classic and fairly traditional, but some contemporary ones are done from time to time. All productions are generally in Spanish.
