Valencia is a wonderful place to shop because there are are many shops of all varieties, and the city is small enough that you can get around to different stores very easily. The biggest shopping street in Valencia is Calle Colón. It is literally packed with shops, and even has three separate branches of El Corte Inglés, one of Spain’s most famous department stores. On this street you will find a nice mix of shops, from designer boutiques to standard Spanish chains, as well as some nice souvenir shops. There are several streets off of Calle Colón that also offer great shopping opportunities, such as Calle Jorge Juan.
If you wish to explore the most sophisticated and upmarket shops, the best street to head to is Poeta Querol. It is full of designer stores and chic boutiques, and you are sure to find some exquisite and one-of-a-kind items here. For funkier, more down-to-earth stores, a good neighbourhood to explore is the Barrio del Carmen. Here there are several streets with shops of all descriptions, such as CD stores, antique shops, clothing stores, and much more. Valencia is known for its pottery and porcelein, so you will have many opportunities to buy some beautiful and reasonably-priced ceramics.
