Caffe del Doge
This cafe is well known among coffee addicts for its strong and good quality coffee. The main branch is located in a tiny alley near the Rialto Bridge (another branch is located at Ponte del Lovo, San Marco). Most customers are locals that know to recognize high quality coffee. The cafe uses an impressive amount of grinders, each with a different kind of coffee.
Caffe Florian
The most famous cafe in Venice is Caffe Florian. Opened in 1720 by Floriano Francesconi at San Marco square this cafe attracts many tourists even today. The prices are very high, but it is the perfect place for an afternoon tea with smoked salmon sandwiches. Many times, a live band plays music for those eating in the square.

Caffe Lavena
Caffe Lavena was established at the corner of Piazza San Marco at the foot of the clock house in 1750. Originally the cafe was called Regina d’Ungheria, which means The Queen of Hungary and later on was named Orso Coronato, which means The Crown Bear.
Carlo Lavena purchased the cafe in 1860 and turned it into a coffee boutique that serves Venetians and tourists till today. The cafe is renown for its production of artisan pastry and ice creams, as well as its cocktails and drinks.

Caffe Quadri
Although this café is less known than cafe Florian, it dates back to the 18th century and has its own charming character. Set in San Marco square, it is a wonderful place to enjoy a good cup of coffee and watch the people go by the square. On summer nights it plays music till late at night.
