Venice is among the most important cities in the world when it comes to art and music. Art fans will enjoy plenty of museums that display the finest work of Italian and mostly Venetian artists, most times at the origin building or institute where these masterpieces were displayed for the first time.
Venice is famous for its long tradition of classical music and no matter what season you arrive to the city, there will be a church that hosts a classical music concert. The Frari church hosts classical concerts every Friday at 9 pm from May to October and other churches such as San Stefano, San Stea and the Scuola di San Rocco host changing recitals.
If you are interested in catching a movie, Venice has a few small cinemas that most of them feature top quality movies. For new releases it is best to go to the nearest town, Mestre, where cinemas prosper.
