Mercato di Rialto
This is the main market in Venice and Venetians have been selling their goods here for almost 1,000 years. You can find here some of the best fruit, vegetables, groceries, fish and local specialities such as baccala montecado, which is stockfish with olive oil, parsley and garlic, small soft shell crabs that are called moleche and pasta e fagioli, which is a traditional dish of rice and peas.
The market is very colourful and authentic and is a must even if you are not planning on doing some grocery shopping over here.
