Nightlife

Vienna is not only attractive during the day. After having seen the Prater, the Stephansdom, the House of Hundertwasser or the Schloss Belvedere you can easily dive into the nightlife. Numerous cocktail bars, pubs, cafès and bars wait to be discovered. No matter what kind of preference you have, quite atmosphere or party zone, Vienna has something for every taste. Most of the bars and pubs are in the inner city and in walking distance to any attraction. After a long day of walking and a bunch of new impressions you can get your mind off by enjoying nice wines, dancing to music or just chilling out. The classic beat for Vienna-scene freaks was and remains the Bermuda Triangle around St. Ruprecht's Church in the old town. The middle-class district of Josefstadt and Neubau with its prosperous atmosphere are home to a pulsating scene. Several cafés are shoulder to shoulder. Around the university and the Naschmarkt you also find a lot of bars where mostly students find themselves at home. Close to the bridge Reichsbrücke there are a lot of bars and beach discos that are especially in summer a perfect place to chill, have cool drinks and hot flirts.

Anybody believing Vienna is only about classical giants like Schubert and Mozart is wrong. Electronic music and DJ stars like Kruder & Dorfmeister or DSL have made Vienna also interesting for young people. One of the top addresses for clubbing is the Volksgarten where you have cool parties on Saturdays, in summer also outside. The motto on Fridays is hip hop, on Saturdays Garden Club, on Wednesdays Reggae and on Mondays Tango.
