Vienna flea market at the Nachmarkt
A quaint and cranky mixture of junk and kitch, second hand clothing and curiosities, rummage, antiques and exquisite collectibles which wait to be discovered. The flea market already exists since 1973 and was initially located in the inner city “Am Hof”. But soon the place got too small to keep all the goods so it was settled to its today’s place next to the Naschmarkt. The market takes place every Saturday from 6.30 am to 6 pm. You can take the U-Bahn until Kettenbrückegasse and start your adventure. On the left side you have a kind of oriental bazaar where you can find less precious things, sometimes in not very good condition. Books or clothes from usable to completely ragged. Nevertheless you might find some bargains. On the right side mainly Viennese traders present their goods. Here you can find antiques or rare things that are a bit cheaper than in the rest of the country. The market is much better sorted than on the left side but you should not forget to bargain.

Naschmarkt
The Naschmarkt is the famous historic market in the centre of Vienna. Traded goods are mainly fruits, vegetables, pastry, fish and meat. But nowadays you can also explore and enjoy culinary pleasures, mainly from Greece, Ex- Yugoslavia, Turkey and Asia. Some special shops placed themselves on certain positions. The area around the Secession sells a lot of fish and in the first third of the market you mainly find Asian shops. Generally, the prices decrease the further you come to the end. There are 172 stands, shops and restaurants. On Saturdays you also find a lot of stands of farmers selling their home grown goods. Between 2001 and 2004 a lot of shops were converted into restaurants which is now prohibited.

Hannovermarkt
The majority of stands is owned by Turkish traders. Beside fruits, vegetables, fish and meat (this is the only market where you can buy horse meat) you can buy fresh bread or have some hot food in one of the snack bars. But during the last couple of years the market lost some popularity. Stands were empty, the choice was limited and the streets were dirty. Authorities thought about a complete renovation and a cut of the number of stands. But today the market survived with 55 stands. Take U6 until Jägerstraße, walk 200 m towards Brigittaplatz and go left in the Othmargasse or take bus 31 until Gerhardusgasse.

Opening times:
Mo – Fr 6 am – 6.30 pm, Sat 6 am – 2 pm
