Public Transport
The public transportation is operated by the Stadtwirtschaft Weimar GmbH with a network of city busses (former trams and o-busses). From the central changing station at the Goetheplatz 8 bus lines are departing. Other changing points are at the Central Station, in the Gropiusstraße and at the Wielandplatz. Around Weimar the ÖPNV maintaines the local transport. Since April 2006 there is a coherent rate network „Verbundtarif Mittelthüringen“ which is valid for Erfurt, Jena, Weimar, Apolda and in the north of the Weimarer Land. All public transport can be used for a coherent rate.
