Q: How much am I charged for using the service?
The discount total given can only be taken if you are able to pay he Reservation Processing Fee of 5 Euro.
The reservation total price that you have to pay at the hotel will be the original price minus (-) the 15% discount.
Q: Will I keep my reservation if I don't pay the fee of 5 euro?
Yes, the service with the discount is optional.
If you rather do not want to pay anything ahaed for the discount. You can, but you will not be able to use
the discount of up-to 15%.
Q: What happens when I book a room through the major online hotel booking portals?
It is highly likely that the hotel where you have booked your room has to pay a commission fee based on
the total reservation amount, around 20%, to the online portal.
Example: Your reservation total was 300 Euro. 60 Euro goes directly to the pocket of the online travel agent
for 'delivering' you this outstanding service.
Q: Travel web-site states :"No booking fees - Save money!?
"No booking fees - Save money! "?
As stated above, it is not true. The booking fee of about 20% value of your reservation is paid to the booking site directly
by the hotel. But indeed you have not been paying anything to booking site directly.
Q: “Best Price Guaranteed”, how does this work ?
It is based on the so called 'rate-parity' model which means that the company, in this case one of the online hotel portals, makes
sure that even the hotel can not sell on it's own website the rooms at a lower price than the online booking agent.
Due to the missing competition you as a consumer have been missing truly discounted prices, this in total reaching several trillions of euros.
For your information we do not advertise anywhere that our price is guaranteed the 'best'.
Q: How does this new discounted booking-method work ?
The hotels that are participating with tobook.com are providing us
with exactly the same rates as they do to other websites. The only difference is that we give “our” commission back to you.
In return we ask you to immediately pay a small fee for processing costs. This fee is a fixed fee. It is not based on the amount but rather
on the individual processing of your room-reservation and eventually cancellation / modification procedures.
This process is similar to the process which is applied by the banks.
Q: Is the fixed-fee model available across the tobok.com domain
No, not yet. We are doing a trial for several major locations.
Later on it will be applied throughout the whole site.
We hope that the word will spread and you will be helping us to make our model the future model of online
hotel-booking services, so that the price is not fixed by the travel portal but by the ones that are able to provide the best service to
you with the minimum costs.
Q: The hotel portal states that there are: “no booking fees”
Yes, technically you are not 'paying' any booking-fees directly. But don't forget the average 20%
commission the hotel has to pay for your booking to the portal. So in reality you just paid 20% of your booking value as a
'no-booking-fee'. It is not only a false ploy but also a misrepresentation of reality. So if your reservation was for 300 euro
you and the commission was 20%, effectively you actually paid about 60 Euro booking-fee.
Q: The hotel portal states:”Best Price Guarantee. Found your room online at a lower price? We'll match it.”
Again not completely true, firstly they ensured via the rate-parity agreement that the hotel would not offer
a cheaper price anywhere including on it's own website. Secondly even if a discrepancy is found and the guarantee is honored, the
'price-matching' difference will have to paid by the hotel! For example if the Hotel sold a room for 1 night for 90 euros, but on the
booking portal the same room for the same night is advertised at 100 euros.. Then somebody who used a booking-portal notices that the
hotel is selling the room for 90 euros while his reservation has a total of 100 euros. The difference of 10 euros has to be paid to the
booking-portal and the booking-portal will then 'match' the price with it's customer. It doesn't end there though. The hotel has to
again pay commission on the official total of 100 euro and not 90.
Q: Will I get my booking-processing fee back if I cancel a my reservation?
No, unfortunately not. We helped you find a better priced accommodation, and free cancellations will be
available according with the free-cancellation policy of the hotel.
