Can't say enough good about this hotel. From check-in to checkout and having us at the airport at 6am on a Sunday morning, it was all top-notch. The staff are friendly, hotel is clean, in a perfect area 5 minutes from Topkapi, Hagia Sofia, and the Blue Mosque. Has a rooftop bar with superb views and they do a complimentary afternoon tea there for guests each day. The breakfast spread is extensive, free, and good.

This is a busy part of Sultanhamet with touting for restaurants, carpets, you name it, and you can often hear the call to prayer early in the morning, but hey, that's Istanbul ! The hotel also hooked us up with a tour operator who organised a great two day trip down the Dardanelles to Gallipolli and Troy. That was all very efficient and we got good service and good value for money. A really nice mid-range hotel in a really great part of town.

I arrived at the Hotel Byzantium to check in for the 2 nights I had booked and was informed that they didn't have a room for me. However, they were most helpful in finding me even a better alternative accommodation.
