A hard rock concert in the Spartakiade stadium or a disco steamboat on the Vltava, the nightlife in Prague is as varied and experimental as it can be. The choice will not be easy. There are plenty of classical concerts in churches or baroque palaces, jazz concerts in bars and pubs, dance clubs and trendy bars where you can enjoy your night until the early morning hours. The popularity of locations changes very quickly in Prague. As the rent is very high, a lot of clubs around the Wenceslas had to shut down or moved to other parts of the city. There are basically three types of locations: the expensive ones for newly rich Czech and tourists, the cheap and dinky ones for backpackers and ex-pats living in Prague and the moderate and innovative ones for young Czech and well informed tourists. A lot of bars are opened until the morning hours (until 2 am or 4 am), night clubs even longer (until 5 am or 6 am). Dress codes and entrance prices dont have such a big importance in the nightlife of Prague. The prices for drinks are relatively low compared to other world cities.
