Nightlife in Seville is an enormously lively party which includes people of all ages and many interesting activities. It is said that the inhabitants of Seville lead a “street life” meaning they are barely at home but flood the streets with their presence. That is why the atmosphere in the city is so immensely alive all around the clock. Usually the evening starts with tapas. As the dinner usually takes a while, tapas bar are an important part of people’s lives. From here they head off to bars, discos or flamenco bars. Many people, especially youngsters meet on public places where they enjoy being together while having some beer, cocktails or other things in plastic cups. Around 2 or 3 am people start to go to one of the many discos and music venues where they stay until the next morning. But beware that for many locations fancy dresses are a must.
Seville also has many Irish, English or Scottish pubs, a lively gay scene and many music events. The quarter of Santa Cruz where you can numerous traditional and typical bars which offer great tapas and wine, many locations close around midnight. The city centre, especially around the Iglesia del Salvador and in the area Alfalfa or Alameda de Hercules, is full of great pubs, bars and cafes. Most of the streets and places here are populated by the mentioned youths who come with their own drinks and “open” their own favourite “bar”. The Parque de Maria Luisa has a lot of summer terraces of which some are located in the old pavilions from the Exhibition in 1929. Many locations offer great music which can keep you busy until the early morning hours. The area along the river close to the EXPO’92 quarter has many nice bars and pubs which are enormously hip. Especially in summer there are a lot of open air establishments which have a great and lively atmosphere.
