The traditional stone-built House of the Strato's Family is situated near the centre of the picturesque village of Kalavasos, close to the village square,restaurants and coffee shops. It has maintained it's original character for the last 300 years. Stratos was born around 1865 and he was one of the first school teachers in the whole of Cyprus. He spent much of his time studing. He was a very hospitable person and Strato's House has always been a place to entertain guests and visitors. As you stroll across the stone-paved square towards the narrow streets, look out for number 16, and you will face a large front door, where Mrs Panayiota, granddaughter of Stratos stands at the doorstep to welcome you. Inside the beautiful courtyard with its two traditional arches is decorated with a large clay vessel which goes back a long way. Three doors lead to the different appartment-suite rooms. The House has 3 large comfortable appartment- suite rooms, each one with its own separare bathroom and kitchen with all the necessary facilities. Two appartments "Petrino romantic junior suite appartment" and "Makrinari traditional suite appartment" can accomodate up to 3and 4 persons and one superior "Anogio superior suite appartment" up to 2 persons. All of them are decorated with the personal taste of the owners using authentic hand - made traditional materials that most of them belong to the family for up to 300 years. Enjoy all your meals under the arches, or take a book and climb up the stairs to the vine-covered verandas to read and relax. Strato's House can promise you of a peaceful relaxing holiday as well as a warm hospitality in a real authentic Cyprus House. Our guests can feel at home and a member of the family from the very first time.
