Alexander's Amsterdam Apartments are unofficially rated with 2 stars, are non smoking and have several locations in the city: The first; the Gerard Doustraat is situated near the cities’ southern canal belt between the Museum square and the Albert Cuijp daily market. The area is known as the 'de Pijp/Oud Zuid' (the Pipe, Old South) quarter, which is a very central location to explore the city, and has a wonderful laid-back atmosphere where you can experience Dutch daily life here with a multicultural accent. The house itself dates from 1886, has a nice facade and steep flights of stairs to keep you in shape. There are five levels with only one ground floor apartment and there is no elevator. There are eight rooms with either a private or shared bathroom/kitchen and a television, stereo and telephone connection in every room. Please note, every floor can be rented out as a two-room apartment with a private shower, toilet, and kitchen, ideal for families. The apartment is situated on a low traffic street next to the canal leading to the Rijksmuseum only five minutes’ walk away with plenty of international restaurants, cafes and shopping possibilities in the immediate area. There are public transport stops around the corner and bicycle and mobile phone rental is available from Alexander's as well as a sloop complete with skipper for your own private boat tour available by the hour. Alexander's is not a luxurious place, but it has character and the location is perfect. Welcome to the 'quartier Latin' of Amsterdam, please feel at home and enjoy your stay! Attention! Alexander’s Apartments also offers accommodation in the western and eastern canal belt (location 2,3,4: see maps) to the same standard and at the same rates. All locations are in the old centre of Amsterdam.
