Hoteles Catalonia is a hotel chain that has been steadily growing since its birth. In the 1980s the consortium moved from the real estate business into the hotel industry. It has grown to become one of the main Spanish corporations in urban development, and the leading hotel group in Barcelona. Currently, it has forty two establishments all around Spain and is consolidating its expansion through the Caribbean with three tourist resort in the Dominican Republic and another four resorts in Mexico (Riviera Maya).
Growth is not the only goal; the group’s main aim is to improve their service day by day. The group fosters all the factors that guarantee their success in an increasingly competitive and expanding market.
Expansion
With more than 8.000 rooms, Hoteles Catalonia has always followed a policy of growth based on discretion and caution and it has shown a steady, positive evolution. The group only opens a hotel in areas where the need for a new hotel has not yet been met, and only if it finds the adequate space and structure to build a hotel according to their quality standards.
Hoteles Catalonia has consolidated its position in Barcelona with eighteen hotels in full operation and three new projects. The group has combined its expansion with the opening of premises in strategic cities - Madrid, Seville, Valencia, Zaragoza, Salamanca, Murcia, Lleida and Brussels- and leisure hotels -Tenerife, Majorca, Menorca, Ibiza, Punta Cana, Bayahibe and Riviera Maya-.
There are new opening projects in Madrid and Barcelona.
Hoteles Catalonia started its international expansion with the opening of the Catalonia Bavaro Resort in the Dominican Republic in 1998 and the acquisition of a new hotel in Brussels in 2001.
Catalonia has grown its investment in the Caribbean and offers nowadays three all inclusive resorts in Dominican Republic (two of them in Punta Cana and one in Bayahibe) and four all inclusive resorts in Mexico (Riviera Maya).
