 | Dutch air passenger tax |
 |
The Dutch government has announced that a new air passenger tax will be levied on all tickets for flights departing from the Netherlands. This will apply to all departures from 1. July 2008. All tickets issued earlier won’t be affected. The tax applies to all passengers leaving from a Dutch airport no matter which airline they are using. The Dutch airports are Schiphol, Rotterdam Airport, Groningen Airport Eelde, Eindhoven Airport and Maastricht Airport. Most airlines are already charging the air passenger tax. However, if you travel within the EU or your flight distance is less than 2500 km, the air passenger tax will amount to € 11.25 per person. Longer distances will be liable to a tax of € 45 per person.
