 | Emirates to launch Calicut-Dubai flight service |

Emirates Airline will start flight operations to Dubai from Karippur International Airport from July 1, 2008.
It proposed to induct advanced Boeing 777-200 and Airbus A330-200 aircraft for the six-flights-a-week service. With this, Kozhikode will be the third gateway in Kerala after Kochi and Thiruvanthapuram and the tenth in India. The services to Kozhikode will enable Emirates to serve Kerala better with an additional gateway and at the same time enhance connectivity between Kerala and the Middle East.The company also proposed to start an office in the city and in the airport as well as separate cargo office to serve the passengers better.
To promote the new route, Emirates had announced introductory fares of Rs 7,500 (one-way) and Rs 14,995 (return fare) in economy class from Kozhikode to Dubai valid from July 1 to August 15 this year. Air India, Indian, Sri Lankan, RACK, Air Arabia and Jet were some of the airlines, which had already started service from the airport.
Ethihad Airlines proposed to start its operations from the airport in August.
