Japanese are the world''s best tourists
According to a survey that was recently published by Expedia, the world’s leading Travel Company, Japanese are considered to be the best tourists. Japanese tourists were rated as tidy and polite and therefore received 65% of the votes. The result is based on a questioning of more than 4000 hotels from around the world which gave their opinion about tourist’s best and worst traits and habits. The survey included 10 specific categories grading popularity, behaviour, manners, and willingness to learn the language and try local cuisine, generosity, tidiness, volume, fashion sense and propensity to complain.

Japanese are the top of the list followed by German and British tourists on second place and Canadians and Swiss on third. However, tourists from different countries scored at varied categories. The Swiss tourists were regarded as being quiet and considerate unlike the British who were considered to be noisy and rude. Americans are also said to be noisy but they are valued when it comes to generosity and the willingness to absorb local culture. This stands in high contrast to the French who are much less likely trying to learn some expression of a foreign country or to taste local food. Besides, they often seem to complain about accommodations along with Germans and Americans.

The tidiest tourists are apparently the Germans, who are said to seldom leave a mess in their hotel rooms, while the Japanese also scored near the top of this list. When it comes to spending and tipping the French and the British are the most frugal, Germans are some of the least generous and the Americans, Canadians and Russians are the complete opposite.

When it comes to fashion, Italians and French are the best dressed tourists while Americans fall to the bottom of the list. Also the British and the Germans don’t have a great sense for fashion.

The outcome of the survey revealed that the French, Chinese and Indians are not considered to be great tourists also because they don’t incorporate the local language and don’t show much interest in culinary and cultural styles of the countries they visit.
