 | Explore Catalunya |

Barcelona has more then enough to see and do, but don’t forget that there are many amazing places outside of the Catalan capital, which can be even more impressive. From the breathtaking valleys in the Pyrenees to the rugged coastline of the Costa Brava, Catalunya is well worth taking the time to explore.
“Explore Catalunya” is a day tour company specializing in taking small groups to some of the most beautiful parts of the region. Group sizes are kept down to a minimum of 8 people, which means that the atmosphere is more like a group of friends out for a day rather than a bus full of strangers.
There are five (6 with Dali tour) tours currently on offer, all departing from Placa Catalunya in the city centre of Barcelona.
The Pyrenees
On the way to the mountains we visit the beautifully maintained historical town of Vic where the tour will have a stop for one hour before heading on to the stunning stone-built village of Queralbs. From there you can catch the rack railway high into the Pyrenees. In these breathtaking mountains you will have the chance to spend the rest of the day hiking and exploring this sanctuary of natural beauty.
Montserrat
Montserrat gives you a range of opportunities. Visit the monastry of Montserrat and see the famous Black Virgin. Listen to the amazing ´La Escolania´, one of the oldest children´s choirs in Europe, or discover the beautiful surroundings of the natural park of Montserrat.
Explore Catalunya offers two tours to Montserrat. The first is in combination with a visit to the enormous underground cellars of world famous Cava and wine producers Freixenet or Cordoniu. The other tour combines Montserrat with one of Barcelona´s most iconic attractions, the extraordinary genius of Antoni Gaudi.

Girona & Costa Brava
Girona has a beautiful historic city centre where you can visit the Jewish Quarter, Arab Baths, and the Romanesque Cathedral of Girona. After Girona, the tour makes a stop in the beautiful preserved medieval village of Pals. Before continuing to the rocky coastline and turquoise waters of the old fisherman’s village of Calella.
Roman Tarragona & Sitges
First you will visit the amazing Roman built aquaduct that stands 60 metres above the surrounding pine trees. It’s even possible to walk across it – but only if you’re very brave.
After this short visit, the tour heads to the Roman town of Tarragona, famous for it’s ampitheatre and historical ruins. In the afternoon, the tour goes to Sitges, the delightful cosmopolitan seaside village famous for it’s colourful lifestyle.
During the tours there is a lot of freedom to explore on your own. The guides are experienced and like to share their love of cities, culture, art and nature, but they are also good at astaying in the background giving guests a feeling of independence and more than enough time to explore away from the group alone
