90 minutes northwards of Cape Town, the West Coast Road (R27) brings you to the largest, deepest protected body of water off the African coast, Saldanha Bay. A section of the bay is the 15km long Langebaan Lagoon, while the biggest of the inlets is Hoedjiesbaai where the stylish and elegand BLUE BAY LODGE is to be found. Once the homestead of the Wicht family, the gabled villa has been restored and now offers 31 deluxe en-suite rooms, several of which offer panoramic views of the ocean, which is no more than fifty paces away.
