A sublime Ottoman-style mansion set in the old city, whose every original detail has been restored by a team of Turkish architects and European interior designers – a boutique hotel heaven for discerning visitors. Completed in 1998, this hotel is a master-work of sensitivity in historic preservation, which features wooden arches, carved ceilings, and massive fortress-like doors rescued from the original structures. These residences were originally built for wealthy merchants to receive their visitors, and a feeling of wonder and privilege is what seduces guests today. Some of the more regal units have stained-glass windows and sea views, while all of the rooms, each one with its own special character, have elegant, even flamboyant décor. Room categories are divided among standard, deluxe, and special, the last all equipped with Jacuzzi. The Mahsen Restaurant offers a carefully selected open buffet menu which is served in the courtyard beside the pool every evening. Or you can dine in the more informal Alp Pasa Cafe which features fantastic Italian dishes. Finally, the hotel has a lovely garden, a historical well and two courtyards, one with a pool, characteristics which give the feeling of staying in a Sultan's Palace.
