THE HISTORY COME TO LIFE In 1984 , during the excavation of Antik Hotel's construction , historical ruins of a cistern were found 12 mt below the surface . These ruins belong to the Late Roman and the Early Byzantine period (C.450-500 A.D.) After the restoration of the cistern , Antik Hotel was built on this historical field ,keeping the original form of it . This cistern also gave the hotel the great responsibility of conveying the history to the future . It was magnificent inspiration for Antik Hotel to have a strong concept for itself . Tho roots of history must grow on today and future . As Antik Hotel was built on a cistern of 1500 years old , it also has to carry this history within its structure. Therefore , each floor of the hotel is designed specially to represent 4 different periods of Istanbul. The first floor is Byzantion , the second is Constantinopolis , the third is Constantinie and the forth floor is Istanbul . All these floor are named as in cronological order of Istanbul's history from A.D.450 till today . Therefore ,
