The Arden was clean, comfortable, convenient to everything. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The staff were incredibly helpful in making our stay a pleasant experience - they bent over backwards in helping us to book local tours and providing us with local information. I would recommend this hotel to

The hotel was being re-furbished when we arrived, we were shocked to see the whole building encased in chipboard, the only part of the hotel visible was the entrance to the reception.
We entered to find the hotel full of workmen and power tools being operated causing noise and dust,
The receptionist offered to show us the rooms which we looked at, the view from inside the building was of the chipboard cladding 1M from the window.
obviously we demanded that we were moved to another hotel.
We were offered 2 options of other hotels, which we had to accept, neither of the 2 options provided breakfast which we had paid for at the Arden hotel, we had to go out for breakfast each morning and pay for it again.

Appalling that a completely unusable hotel was offered for sale without making clear to guests that a complete building refurbishment was in progress.
The beginning of our holiday was completely ruined.
(TOBOOK: hotel is informed; apologizes for what is happened. Renovation activities in the front side and lobby of the hotel will be finished in the second week of march.)
